"I have very dry, mature skin. Twice a day I wash my face with a drug store very hydrating cleanser. Once a week, after I wash my face, I then use the Rice Powder to exfoliate my face, and after that I slather on a moisturizer because the rice powder is effective but very drying. I just purchased the Rice Wash - and it is zero hydrating compared to my normal drug store creamy face wash (and it does not remove any makeup like my drug store product). I will stick to my hydrating drug store face wash and weekly Tatcha Rice Powder - and give the Rice Wash to someone who does not have dry skin.
